There are many different ways that we learn. That's why we're encouraging summer learning through a wide variety of adventures all summer long. Learning activities are grouped into categories: Read, Write, Create, Explore, Play, and Give. A full list for each category & recommendations can be found on our website or create your own. An activity should equal at least 1 hour of time. The last day to turn in your activities is August 9th. Incentives can be picked up whenever you complete a row on the front of the card. Log your activities on your tracking sheet and receive an incentive every time you finish 7 learning experiences. Move from the 1st incentive to the 5th to receive them all.

Reading begins June 18th and runs until August 9th.

From June 23rd until August 10th the Teen Department will offer programs for teens. Just check the calendar and be sure to sign up.

Our programs are geared towards the idea that the library is a place where we can invent, investigate, and learn. Where we can be hands on and creative in whatever space is available! We'll be exploring where our imagination can take us outside of the pages of a book.

Teen Services at Lane Library hopes you'll join us to learn and have fun.

Mini-camps will run between 3-4 days for around two hours. These camps provide a fuller exploration and instruction into creativity and fun. Teens will have access to Instructors who will provide guidance and expert knowledge in their field of study. We hope to expand our teens’ understanding of that field. At the end of camp, we look for our teens to produce a body of work they can feel proud of.Mini-Camps this year are: Entrepreneur Camp, Night Camp, Dungeons & Dragons / Costume & Cosplay Camp, STEM Camp, Digital Art Camp.

Not much of a reader and think you might be too old for some of the programs? We'd love to have you involved in our community! Volunteering will earn you raffle tickets. Sign up! Volunteering is an excellent way to give back to your community and expand your horizons. You must be at least 12 to volunteer.

Reading Buddies involves teenagers reading one-on-one with children every week. Teens and children will read books together, tell stories, play word games, write stories - anything to help younger children become better readers.

Staff one of our Book Carts located near the Hampton Beach. Volunteers will be on hand to greet and assist beach goers as they browse a selection of books provided by the Friends of the Library. Spend an hour and a half at the beach? What could be better. You'll be there to interact with the public, by supporting the mission and efforts of Lane Memorial Library, and their partner the Friends of the Lane Memorial Library.
