READ GREAT BOOKS

Students keep a log of the books, manga, comics, or magazines they read starting June 19th. The log is available online and in the Teen Area. You can read whatever book, graphic novel, comic or magazine you like, but certain titles could be used to complete our Teen Bingo Card. Completing squares on the Bingo Card will earn extra raffle tickets and increase the chance of winning gift cards at our weekly drawing and at our end of summer party.

Reading begins June 21st and runs until August 23rd. 1 Ticket per book starting August 9th for weekly drawings of 1 Barnes and Noble & 1 Dunkin Donuts Gift Cards.

The best part about the reading portion of the Teen Summer Reading Program is that it's something you're already doing for school. So why not take a chance at winning some awesome gift cards and prizes? Sign up!

ATTEND GREAT PROGRAMS

From June 26th until August 4th the Teen Department will offer programs for teens. Just check the calendar and be sure to sign up.

Our programs are geared towards the idea that the library is a place where we can invent and learn. Where we can be hands on and creative in whatever space is available! We'll be exploring where our imagination can take us outside of the pages of a book.

Teen Services at Lane Library hopes you'll join us to learn and have fun.

MINI-CAMPS

Click here to sign up for Summer Mini Camps

Mini-camps will run between 3-4 days for around two hours. These camps provide a fuller exploration and instruction into creativity and fun. Teens will have access to Instructors who will provide guidance and expert knowledge in their field of study. We hope to expand our teens’ understanding of that field. At the end of camp, we look for our teens to produce a body of work they can feel proud of.

VOLUNTEER

Are you not much of a reader and you think you might be too old for some of the programs? We'd love to have you involved in our community! Volunteering will earn you raffle tickets. Sign up! Volunteering is an excellent way to give back to your community and expand your horizons. You must be at least 12 to volunteer.

Reading Buddies involves teenagers reading one-on-one with children every week. Teens and children will read books together, tell stories, play word games, write stories - anything to help younger children become better readers.

Staff one of our Book Carts located near the Hampton Beach. Volunteers will be on hand to greet and assist beach goers as they browse a selection of books provided by the Friends of the Library. Spend an hour and a half at the beach? What could be better. You'll be there to interact with the public, by supporting the mission and efforts of Lane Memorial Library, and their partner the Friends of the Lane Memorial Library.
