Friends hold successful fundraiser for the Lane Memorial Library
Atlantic News, May 6, 2004
HAMPTON -- In celebration of National Library Week, the Friends of the Lane Memorial Library held a raffle for gift/book baskets, a bake sale and a gently used children's book sale. The total amount raised for the threeday event was $600.
The raffle basket winners included Chris Domingos, Carolyn Cockling, Shea Libbey, Isabelle Domingos, Allison Griffin, Johanna Rangel, Nichole Wilcox, and Nancy Osgood.
A great deal of teamwork went into planning and running this event. The Friends, Lane Library Trustees and Library staff members who assisted with this fundraiser should be commended.
The Friends would like to plan another book sale fundraiser for July, this time including both adult and children’s materials. (Please drop off donations at the library.) This fundraiser will be discussed at the next Friends meeting on Tuesday, May 18 from 6:30-8 p.m. in the Dorothy Little Room. All are welcome to attend.
Currently, the Friends are holding a half-price membership sale, since membership period begins in September. Single membership is just $5 and family membership is $7.50.
The Friends of the Lane Memorial Library are a multiage volunteer group whose mission is to preserve and strengthen the library as a community resource. Fundraising efforts directly benefit the Lane Memorial Library. For more information about the Friends please visit www.hampton.lib.nh.us/ library/ friends.
