Summer 2003 Children's Room News
Reading Rocks the Granite State -- and the Library Programs, Too.
Summer is here and so is another Summer Reading Program chock full of exciting programs.
There will be 34 programs over the six-week session. Many ages have new programs to "check out."
The sign-up sheet and list of programs is available in the children's room. It's not too late to become part of this summer's fun. Be sure to come to the Thursday evening programs that are for the whole family.
For every 30 minutes that a child reads or is read to, a ticket can be added to the treasure chest. On July 31st at our 6:30 PM program, the drawings will take place. We have again been given a bicycle by Wal-mart as part of their commitment to reading and literacy, special Usborne books were donated by Glenda Engelbach, puppets, t-shirts and other prizes are also ready to be won by super readers.
Remember, the more you read, the more tickets you earn to go into the treasure chest and the better your chances to win!

Book Group Started
Two new programs are our reading groups. Shelby Edwards is leading them.
One is designed for Middle School Readers and they will be reading two of the books on the HAJH reading list. It is not too late to sign up and read what you "have to" in a group. The second group is for a parent and a child. This is designed for readers age 10 and up. Both child and parent read the same book and are part of the same discussion of the book.
Both groups may continue after the summer!!
