Letter To the Editor:

The Friends of the Lane Memorial Library thank all of the businesses, individuals, and library staff who contributed time, services and goods to make our July 2005 Book Sale such a tremendous success. Our July 2005 Sale raised over $3,500 in funds that will be utilized to enrich library services, resources, and programs.

We greatly appreciate the donations and/ or assistance provided by the following local businesses and individuals: Tobey & Merrill, Hampton fire department, Jim Gaylord, Hannaford Stores, Hoaty’s, John Holman, Fred Muscara, Westinghouse Corporation, and the many Seacoast businesses that allowed us to advertise.

A very special “thank you” to the Hampton community for their generous donations of fine books and materials, and the tireless work of dedicated volunteers. We could not have done it without all of your help! There was a generous outpouring of support from the community. The turnout was overwhelming. We thank you for your attendance.

Very much appreciated are the efforts put forth by: Diane Keyes and Dot Gooby in contributing their unparalleled leadership skills while chairing and organizing this great fund raiser; Catherine Redden, Cindy Stosse, Darrell Eifert, Bill Teschek and the library staff who assisted with the sale; Judy Geller and Mary Lou Heran who chaired the bake sale; Lisa Parker and Dot Gooby for networking the bake sale, and to all the wonderful bakers (the bake sale raised almost $400); Diane Keyes for the Red Sox-ticket raffle (the raffle raised close to $600); Jen Boyle, publicity chairman, for an outstanding job in media coverage via newspapers and Channel 22; Sierra and Lisa Parker for their organization of the children’s books section (a total sellout due to their efforts), and Judy Geller for her artistic talent in flyer design.

The Friends of the Lane Memorial Library are a multi-age volunteer group whose mission is to preserve and strengthen the library as a community resource. For more information or to download a membership application please visit us on the Web.
