The Twilight Book Club reads "Luncheon of the Boating Party"

On Tuesday, September 2nd at 6:30 PM, the Twilight Book Club will meet to discuss Luncheon of the Boating Party, by Susan Vreeland.

You’ve seen the painting before: a group of friends seated outside under a red-striped awning, the remains of a leisurely lunch on the table before them. Their faces are flushed, perhaps with wine, perhaps from their earlier boating venture on the Seine, which can be seen as a mere splash of blue in the background.

It’s Pierre-Auguste Renoir’s ‘Luncheon of the BoatingParty,’ the subject of best-selling author’s Susan Vreeland’s vivid exploration of one of the most beloved Renoir paintings in the world. The Seattle Times calls Luncheon "this summer's most satisfying historical novel."

New members are always welcome, and copies of the book are available to check out at the library. For more information, contact Debra Perry at debraperry@gmail.com.
