Find The 'Ultimate Treasure' With ACT ONE Theatre Camp

Atlantic News, Thursday, July 15, 2004

HAMPTON — Join in the fun as the ACT ONE Theatre Camp kids take the stage in "The Ultimate Treasure" on Friday and Saturday, July 16-17 at 11 a.m. at the Performing Arts Center at Winnacunnet in Hampton. Tickets are $5 for children and $10 for those over age 18.

"The Ultimate Treasure" is the story of a group of fairy tale characters who go on an adventure to find a missing piece of a leprechaun's gold. This exciting new work is the creation of the students in ACT ONE's Summer Theatre Camp.

"Each summer we have been astounded by the creativity of the theatre camp kids," says ACT ONE's Executive Director Stephanie Voss Nugent. "Now we look for every opportunity to have the students be playwrights."

When asked to describe the play they have written, budding playwright/ performers Nick Bragdon, Lena Ives, Colleen McClare, Jessica Noone, Asena Ozberak, Dilara Ozberak, and Alex Taylor made clear that "our story is a mystery and a comedy, and the most exciting part is discovering just what the Ultimate Treasure really is."

Kids who would like to take part in a Theatre Camp this summer and work with talented directors Christopher-Paul Muise and Amanda Conrad may contact Stephanie Voss Nugent at (603) 926-2281. "Broadway Bound," a two-week workshop, begins Monday, July 19; "The Tallest Tale, a three-week workshop, begins Monday, August 2.
