With The Inn of Hampton

Atlantic News, Thursday, February 26, 2004

THE HEIGHT OF HOSPITALITY - Galley Hatch Catering now manages and operates the Conference Center next to the Inn of Hampton, located on Lafayette Road in Hampton. One of the first functions that took place under new management was last Thursday's Hampton Chamber of Commerce's Mardi Gras-themed awards night. HAMPTON - Galley Hatch Catering has announced it has reached agreement with the Inn of Hampton to manage and operate the Inn's 3,000-square foot conference facility. The Conference Center is located adjacent to the Inn of Hampton at 815 Lafayette Road (Route 1) in the heart of Hampton.

"This opportunity to offer quality food and top-notch hospitality services to area businesses is an exciting event for the entire Galley Hatch team," says Karen Willis, manager of Galley Hatch Catering. "The Galley Hatch name means a lot to our many loyal customers who know of the Hatch's near 35-year history, also in the heart of Hampton."

The Conference Center will offer state-of-the art facilities, including seating for 250 people for sit-down events and venues for up to 500 people for various types of gatherings. The Center will also feature high-speed Internet access for communications and full audio and video capabilities to accommodate business communications.

Jill Preston, vice president of the Inn of Hampton, says the synergy between the Inn and the Conference Center now being managed by the Galley Hatch is a natural and winning formula, with the 16 executive rooms located above the Conference Center for business travelers as well as the Inn's other accommodations.

"When we built the Conference Center, we designed it with the best of quality and furnishings in mind," Preston says. "Whether a family wants to have a beautiful wedding or a company wants to hold a sales seminar here, we now have the best of physical facility offerings with the area's best food and hospitality team in the Galley Hatch."

"We plan on bringing to the Conference Center the high level of quality food and beverage services that businesses today expect for their important company gatherings," Willis says. "We and the Inn of Hampton's team are pleased that area businesses can now spend less time driving to major cities and other states to find the kind of major league food and conference services they search for to facilitate important company gatherings year-round."

Galley Hatch Catering can also deliver customized off-site solutions for businesses and will offer the full compliment of food and famous pastries and cakes that area families have come to appreciate for years now through the Conference Center at the Inn of Hampton.

The Galley Hatch Restaurant, owned by John Tinios, opened in Hampton in 1970, while Galley Hatch Catering, a partnership between Tinios, Kevin Sullivan and Scott Myers, started operations in 1997.
