A Universe of Stories 2019Welcome to A Universe of Stories!  The Lane Memorial Library summer reading opportunities for all ages are in full swing, so follow these links to find out about all the great events and programs we have in store.  Download our full brochure, or check the calendar of all our events.  Parents and children can jump directly to the Kids Summer Reading Page or Children's Calendar, Teens can check out their page and Event Calendar, and adults can plan to attend our lineup of concerts and lectures.

Research Your House
Andrew CushingEvery house has a history. How do you discover it? Join the NH Preservation Alliance’s Andrew Cushing on Tuesday, July 23rd at 6:30 PM in the Lane Room as he reveals tools, tricks, and tips for researching your old house. Using a combination of sources – common and uncommon – anyone can start to assemble their home's history.

Fiddle and Cello Concert
Elizabeth and Ben AndersonThe Lane Memorial Library’s Summer Concert Series ends with Boston duo Elizabeth and Ben Anderson performing traditional Scottish music with fiddle and cello on Tuesday, July 30th at 6:30 PM in the downstairs Lane Room.  Blending Scottish tunes with lively rhythms and innovative harmonies, the pair create a sound rooted in tradition, inspired by the contemporary, and completely original.

Stranger Things Escape Room
Stranger Things Escape RoomDoes your family love Stranger Things? Come to the Lane Memorial Library’s Stranger Things Escape Room on Friday, July 26th, 12:00 – 6:30 PM. There will be 7 time slots, 30 minutes each. Library staff are re-creating Will's living room, Hopper's office, 11's blanket fort, and more! Wait until you see all the 80's awesomeness! Ticket holders will have to solve the puzzles, find the clues, and escape the Upside Down with Will and Eleven. This is a free event, but tickets are required. Families/teens/all age groups welcome. Group size limited to 6 per team. Teams and individuals will be combined as needed. Tickets are available here.

Peter Randall Exhibit
"Hampton Beach in the 1980s"A reception for local photographer, publisher and writer Peter Randall will be held at the Lane Library on Tuesday, July 9th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.  Peter has created an exhibit of photographs taken on Hampton Beach in the early 1980s that will be on display in the downstairs Weston Gallery during the month of July. Reserve Museum Passes Online
Museum Pass Reservations Thanks to funding by the Friends of the Lane Memorial Library , patrons may now reserve our Museum Passes online up to a week in advance.  Reduced-admission or free passes are available to any Hampton resident with a library card.  See our list of Museums with hours of operation and driving directions.
